FIT AND FORGET!!
UK Parts Direct have generated this short guide to aid you in the fitment of our ABS Rings.
There are two main types of reluctor ring. The process of fitment differs slightly for each of these, so for your ease our guide covers both.
A) TOOTHED TYPE ABS RING - FITTING GUIDE
1) Generally there is no need to remove the driveshaft from the vehicle, this process can be achieved in situ.
2) Firstly, you need to remove the old reluctor rings from the driveshaft / CV joint by drifting them off (take care not to damage the unit).
3) Clean the driveshaft / CV joint using a wire brush to remove all loose corrosion.
4) Apply heat to the reluctor ring to allow it to expand (placing in the oven or the use of a heat gun is generally sufficient).
5) Using suitable gloves, drift the new reluctor ring in place.
6) Allow unit to completely cool before moving unit.
B) BAND / HOLE TYPE ABS RING - FITTING GUIDE
1) Generally there is no need to remove the driveshaft from the vehicle, this process can be achieved in situ.
2) Firstly, you need to remove the old reluctor rings from the driveshaft / CV joint by drifting them off (take care not to damage the unit)
3) Clean the driveshaft / CV joint using a wire brush to remove all loose corrosion.
4) Apply a thin layer of loctite (or similar) around the driveshaft where the reluctor ring will be situated.
